The Cottages is a gated community. Each owner should consider that "your home starts at the front gate." Do not let unknown guests drive through the entrance gates after you. Instead, when the gates open, pull ahead to the white line when the light is red and wait for the light to turn green and the gate to close. The other vehicle must attempt to access themselves using their own Scan ID card or security code to enter. This promotes and ensures site security and prevents potentially unauthorized access, damage, or theft.

Located at Columbia Valley Road, Red Hawk Pass, and Treehouse Trail, the main entrance security gate operates according to a unique four-digit security code assigned to each owner. Owners may also open the security gate using their unique scan card/FOB. Both are programmed by the Site Manager. To maintain security, owners, residents, and visitors are asked to abide by the posted signage, requesting entrants to wait for the security gate to close immediately after entering the development.
Although some delivery companies have a security code for entrance to the development, most do not. Please assist your delivery company by opening the gate with your own security code or scan card when they arrive, or meet them at the gate.
Security codes for real estate agents with active listings in The Cottages can be requested through the Site Manager.
Located at the north end of Ravenwood Trail, this security gate provides pedestrian access to/from Frosst Creek and the Picnic area. The gate security code is assigned by the Site Manager and is not unique to each owner/resident. It is a single, shared code updated regularly for security. This code should not be posted publicly (e.g., on social media) to ensure access security.

The gate to Phases 3 and 4 of The Cottages development (located on the east side of Columbia Valley Road) is opened with a FOB uniquely programmed for each strata lot within Phases 3 and 4. The Site Manager maintains the programming and assignment of these FOBs. Pedestrians can gain access using the pedestrian gate and the associated gate code.
Owners are issued unique main gate security/access codes and scan ID cards that should be recorded and kept in a safe place. Do not share your access code or scan ID card, as you are responsible for any damage done to Cottage property by someone using your scan card or gate code. If you are concerned that someone is using your gate code, you should ask the Property Manager to change it.
Owners who lose scan ID cards can request a new card and will be subject to a fee. Previous scan card(s) will be deactivated. If the card is found later, it can be reactivated at no cost. A fee of $50.00 is charged for gate code changes or replacement/additional scan cards.
There are limited, designated visitor parking spaces throughout The Cottages development, including adjacent to the Treehouse and on the perimeter interior roads (e.g., Deer Run). Owners are not permitted to park in visitor parking overnight.
Please see Division 10 of the Bylaws for more information on parking.
